How does Mary Shelley depict Victor's character? What characteristics does he possess? Why was his departure to Ingolstadt at first delayed? How does he behave once he gets to Ingolstadt University? How does he deal with what his two professors initially say to him? What opinion does he form of them and of what use are they to him? Why is he driven to do what he does? Why is what he does assume such importance to him?
Shelly depicts Frankenstein as a very snobbish and egoistic character. Because Frankenstein was born into a very wealthy and high classed family, he believes that he is superior to those around him, especially because he "thinks" that he knows a lot about science and natural philosophy. However, he has been reading outdated science books and he soon realizes that after meeting Krempe and Waldman in Ingolstadt. His relationship with the two professors are completely different. He somewhat fears and thinks of Krempe a superior. However, he befriends Waldman very quickly and respects his knowledge on chemistry. Frankenstein is very passionate and knowledgeable on science and anatomy. I believe that science is so important to him because perhaps he wants to show off his talent and knowledge to the two professors and also because he just enjoys science and wants to figure out the "secret of life."Also, these pictures you posted are amazing! I can't believe such monuments and landmarks can exist! Switzerland must of been quite isolated from the other countries being surround by all these ice mountains.
Mary Shelly depicts Frankenstein as a doomed character. The characteristics he possess by betraying a doomed protagonist and narrator was how he was inspired by old science and natural philosophy. His departure to Ingolstadt at first delayed because his mother catches scarlet fever from Elizabeth, whom she has been nursing back to health, and dies. Once Victor gets to Ingolstadt University his behavior was frightend by professor Mr.M Krempe. Krempe tells Victor that all the time that Victor has spent studying has been wasted. Victor deals with his two professors differently. He does not agree with M.Krempe. He feels it is like what Victor's father had told him.Professor Waldman, convinces Victor to pursue his studies in the sciences, which Victor respects more. By the way I agree with Brandon the pictures are amazing!!
She depicts Frankenstein in my opinion as someone whose curiosity and eagerness causes him problems. His departure to Ingolstadt is delayed because his mother gets very ill and suddenly dies. When arriving to the University Victor is very arrogant and rude towards one of his professors, M.Krempe. He seems to act like a know it all at the University and has very different views when it comes to natural philosophy, and science. And the reason he has such different views is because he is very passionate towards anatomy, physiology, and science in general. M. Krempe the professor that he does not like, he doesn't agree with his views. As for his chemistry professor M. Waldman, he grows a bond with him. He feels that Waldman makes the subject easier for him to understand based on the way he teaches.
Victor Frankensteins character is depicted as curious and determined. His departure to the University was first delayed because his mother grew ill and passed away. Victor does not agree with his professor M. Krempe but he kept along well with his professor M. Waldman and his views. With Victor's passion for science he is lead to the construction of his monster, Frankenstein. I agree with both Kenia and Brandon, these pictures are fantastic. They make me want to go there.
Wow really impressive. But when I read the book I didn't a picture like the ones you posted up. Something more like titanic with icy cold water and some ice surrounding you.
She described Frankenstein as having “more than mortal speed” and “bore the extremes of heat and cold [and] stature far exceeded theirs.” Then she described his features and how he looked like. But personality wise, she described him to be curious but that doesn't give him an advantage. It usually just gets him in trouble. He's friends with one of the professors and the other one doesn't like him. He feels like he's better than the rest once he got accepted but didn't realize he read outdated books instead of updated ones.
